Early yesterday morning someone knocked at my door. It was too early to answer. Then about 15 minutes later I heard the well known Rubio Secret Neighbor Knock. I answered the door and Denise asked me if I knew my car was in the middle of the road!!!!
I walked out there puzzled. The door was unlocked and a Mexican station was blaring. I sat down to see what was up and a dummy key was in the ignition. Some chop shop thugs were trying to steal my car!!!! Apparently a car three houses down the street had been stolen last Wednesday, and when I called the police station to report it, the officer told me there had been a rash of them in my area. The other victim on my street found his car minus wheels, rims, and stereo. His thugs even tried painting his black car white!!! I sure wish he had alerted his neighbors about this.
To make a long story short, the alarm, which is really a pain, kept the car from starting, therefore, the car was abandoned in the middle of the street. The key is still stuck in it. The battery is dead from the little beeping due to the key being in it. The Honda Dealer had to order the part so I take it in (after jumping it) at 7:30 Tuesday morning (thank goodness I have the day off).
The photo is me with my brand new very beautiful, fashionable, red Club. (I owned one before but gave it to my mom :( ) It is very awkward to put on. It will give me another reason to clear my garage out sooner!!!
Denise was great. She took me to Kohl's as retail therapy. I was able to use my 30% coupon for some new black shoes and a robe. This was my pity party. The Rubio's even gave me the key to their car in case I needed to go out. (When don't I need to go out?!)
I was good and decided not to go joy riding in the Rubio's car. Joby called. She took me to PetSmart to buy the boys some food and then we went out to dinner. Between Denise and Joby, my pity party was great!
Ciao,
The Grumpy Victim
