Last Day of School

On Monday I threw away the seating chart and let the students sit where they wanted. Guess what happened? The boys formed a group of boys only and the girls formed a group of girls only. There you go, Mars vs Venus.
We only had 3.5 hours of school today with a recess wedged in there. The students were very excited and the noise level was elevated! Cleaning their desks with shaving cream didn't help the situation any. With the help of my trusty moms, the class was treated to drinks and a chocolate fountain with assorted dipping goodies.
The last day of school is bittersweet. Some of the students are the last in their families to come through room 2. Today the youngest of the Chipmans, Junglings, Salcidos, Bassians, Schenones, Englands, and Sullivans were promoted to second grade. With them their families were promoted too. I do not like this.
