Long Weekend in Maine

I was fortunate to take advantage of some donated frequent flyer miles on October 9th and spent the weekend in midcoast Maine. The foliage was beautiful, the "oreo" cows were picturesque, and the ocean was spectacular. Had a great time shopping at the Christmas Tree Shoppes and Reny's!!!! :) Mad and Mike were very generous hosts. If I lived in Maine during the winter I would for sure buy some flannel lined jeans!!! I used to wear them when I was little. Sooo comfy!!

Pony Bronco League World Series, Monterey, CA

Jay, Grandma and I went to see my cousin Rosemarie's grandson, Nick Russo, #3, play in the Bronco World Series in Monterey. It was held at Jack's Park and the weather was absolutely perfect. The game began at 5 p.m and lasted for around 3 hours. Didn't even need a jacket.

Since Monterey was hosting the event they were given a spot in the tournament. They played Mexico City. Mexico was ahead by 15 when Nick got a double then was batted in. Later on he hit a ball out of the park to drive in 3 more runs. The end score was 15 to 7, Mexico City. Great weather and an exciting finish made the day.

Tuscany on Fitzgerald Ave,

Julie drove down to Gilroy yesterday to bring numbers a computer. On her way she spotted a sunflower field on Fitzgerald and told me about it. Today I went out there with my trusty camera and snapped a few photos. Enjoy

Happy Birthday Jay Jay

Today, June 28th, the boy child turned 30. We were supposed to go out to dinner with Grandma, John, Grant, and Brian TOMORROW night but a kind soul told Jay he would close for him. Jay got off work early and gave us a call stating that he really would like to go out tonight. Unfortunately 8:30 p.m. was too late for Grandma :(. His cake was not ready so he will have to take a raincheck on that.

We had a very good dinner at The Fish House Restaurant in Monterey. I had never heard of it so I looked it up online. It was one of the Online 10 Best website's [picks. People around us kept ordering Bananas Foster and the flame up was huge. At one point I almost thought I got my eyebrows singed.

We had a good time talking and laughing, Jay and Grant took off and John and I made in home in 90 minutes!!!!! There was road construction and one lane all the way home.
